Rolling Sands will Give on Colorado Gives Day

On Tuesday, December 9th we will be donating 20% of all store sales* to Hallie Wastell and her family.  Hallie, one of our beloved employees, has recently been diagnosed with cancer, again.  And as many of us know, the cost of cancer is huge.  Just some of the costs include:  lost wages for her and her spouse (as he takes time off to care for her after chemo treatments or doctor's visits), cost of co-pays, uncovered treatments due to insurance limitations, medications, inability to contribute to her children's college funds or their retirement fund, and so on.  And Hallie is engaging in a number of alternative treatments to help her through the mental, emotional, and physical stress of the disease itself and the chemotherapy treatment.  All alternative treatments, such as massage, acupuncture, crystal healing, yoga therapy, and more are uncovered by her insurance.  So we, as a company, have decided to give to Hallie and her family on the day that Colorado asks us to give to non-profits, Colorado Gives Day.

We hope you will consider coming into our store on Tuesday, December 9th and making a purchase of any size to contribute to Hallie.  We also will have an Offering Jar for anyone who wishes to donate, but are unable to make it on that specific day.

We would also like to announce that there have been and will be other fundraising events to help Hallie and her family.  If you wish to stay abreast of these events, please like us on Facebook, where we will continue to share these events with all of our customers as so many of you have met her in our store.  A friend has taught a donation-based yoga class for her already, and on December 18th there will be a Silent Auction & Party which will be held at our neighboring pub The Arvada Tavern.
